Are you a member of a professional body?

Yes, I’m a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). This means I must work to their standards – the ‘Ethical Framework’ and the ‘Core Competences’ for working with children.

Are you qualified to work with children?

Yes, I have a specific qualification for working with children.  My training was provided by Anglia Ruskin University. I have an enhanced DBS certificate and am safeguarding trained.

Do you work with adults?

Yes, I do.

Is my counselling confidential?

Yes – our conversations will be private and confidential and won’t be discussed without your permission. There are a few exceptions when I may need to breach confidentiality – which are as a legal requirement or if I have a serious concern about the risk of harm to you or others. I will always aim to discuss this with you first. Click here to view my privacy policy.

Are children offered privacy and confidentiality?

Yes, they are, but the way I organise a counselling agreement may be different depending on the age or developmental needs of your child. When children come for counselling, I understand that it is also a time when you, as a parent, can also feel very worried and anxious. My aim is to make sure that you are comfortable with the way I work  and about how confidentiality is offered to your child. Your child needs to feel safe and trusting of me. In our initial assessment, we will agree together the best way to organise your child’s experience of counselling.

Where are you?

I work from my private counselling room in Henham, located between Bishops Stortford and Saffron Walden. There is plenty of parking.

How long are your sessions and how much is the fee?

Other than initial assessment appointments, sessions last for 50 minutes. My fee is £40 per session.  Payment can be made by bank transfer or card machine.
